Tech Experience for Everyone

Apprenticeships are a high-quality career pathway for individuals to obtain paid work experience and formal job training. Exelaration apprentices are career changers, veterans, retirees, parents, young adults, and more. Anybody can be an apprentice as long as they have a demonstrated passion for technology, an understanding of development fundamentals, and the ability to work on a team. No formal education required.

Our apprentices learn and work full-time under the mentorship of friendly professional engineers, creating software solutions for real clients and gaining valuable experience.  As an apprentice, you can expect to grow your skills in programming languages like C#, .NET, Java, Python, and Ruby. You’ll also understand database skills, Agile development practices, test-driven principles, and professional workplace habits.

Exelaration apprentices must successfully complete the required hours of coursework, assessments, and capstone project. Upon completion of the program, our alumni can confidently enter the tech workforce with authentic software engineering experience.

To be eligible for an apprenticeship with Exelaration, you must:

  • Be at least 16 years old
  • Hold a high school diploma or GED
  • Be flexible to work in a hybrid, remote, and on-site environment at an Exelaration Center
  • Demonstrate your knowledge of software engineering fundamentals.  Free online courses (such as  Coursera, Udemy or Codecademy), self-study books, or bootcamps are good examples of prior study
  • Be willing to commit to a paid full-time role for 12-months or 2000 hours

Exelaration is currently pursuing status as a Registered Apprenticeship.  Once complete, our apprentice graduates will receive an industry recognized credential certifying their skills and experience.

My only regret is not doing this sooner.”
